Water supply and drainage for compressed air stations
In addition to the significant losses that would result from interrupting compressed air supply, the production water supply for the compressed air station should use a single water supply route.
The cooling water for the compressed air station should be recycled. A single-pump cooling system is recommended for the recirculating water system.
The cooling water pressure (gauge pressure) at the inlet of the air compressor should meet the following requirements:
1. For reciprocating air compressors, the pressure should not exceed 0.4 MPa and should not be less than 0.1 MPa;
Note: Applicable to reciprocating air compressors manufactured in accordance with "Technical Conditions for General-Purpose Stationary Reciprocating Air Compressors" (GB/T13279-91).
2. For screw air compressors, the pressure should not exceed 0.4 MPa and should not be less than 0.15 MPa;
3. For centrifugal air compressors, the pressure should not exceed 0.52 MPa and should not be less than 0.15 MPa.
The water quality standards for the cooling water of the air compressor and its cooler should comply with the provisions of the current national standard "Design Specifications for Industrial Recirculating Cooling Water Treatment" (GB50050). When softened water is available within the enterprise and the system is economical and reasonable, the circulating water in the system can use softened water.
When using a direct flow system to supply cooling water to the air compressor and its cooler, the drainage temperature should be controlled according to the carbonate hardness of the cooling water and should not exceed the limits specified in Table 7.0.5. If the value exceeds the limit specified in Table 7.0.5, the cooling water should be softened.

A water flow observation device or flow controller must be installed on the drain pipe of the air compressor.
The water supply and drainage pipelines of the compressed air station should be equipped with facilities for draining the stored water.
